A time to say farewell and thank you!

Dear Parents, To close off the school year, I would like to start by saying what a privilege and an honour it has been getting to know your child. For some, I have had the luxury of seeing them grow since the beginning of grade one, and for others, the time was just too short. However, the beautiful thing about being apart of Ramsay School is our learning community, and, as your child continues to transition from each grade, all of the adults in our building will be there to greet, support and celebrate them.  I would also like to say "Thank you" for all of the support you provided your child during our ongoing learning. Your resilience and patience were unwavering, and consequently, your child's growth and success continued to be evident.  In closing, I would like to say farewell to our students who will be continuing their education elsewhere and to our returning students, I look forward to seeing your joyous smiling faces and hearing your laughter in the f...

Protecting our water source

Today we had a dynamic conversation about ways that we can protect our water source. The students have a lot to say and are very passionate about conserving this invaluable resource. Many of the children asked if I could send the video we watched to their parents. Welcome to grade one/two!

Hello and welcome to grade 1/2 room 8. I am so excited to have this communication tool available so that you are able to see what is happening in our classroom. Please feel free to share with me any ideas or suggestions that you may have that you feel you or your child may like to contribute to our learning. This will help to make further connections between home, our community and school. As the year progresses the students will be taking on a greater role in contributing to our blog. Today was a terrific first day. All of the students were super excited to dive right into their learning. Here are a few snapshots. "Together we are better" was the statement we discussed as a springboard to understanding how we can work as an entire classroom community in order to have greater success.
