Sorting and Categorizing 2-D and 3-D shapes

Over the last week, we have been extending our review of 2-D shapes to include 3-D shapes. We have discovered the attributes that help us to differentiate between 2-D shapes such as number of sides, vertices, size, and colour. We then discovered ways to categorize 3-D shapes. Several students wanted to extend their learning by knowing how they could put objects together that are different but also have 2 or 3 characteristics that they share. It was through this request that we discovered how handy a Venn Diagram can be.
